John De Lancie joins Torchwood

John de Lancie has joined the cast of ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’ currently in production, playing the role of a gadget inventor.

Torchwood: Miracle Day is the title of the fourth series of the British science fiction television series Torchwood, a spin-off from the long-running show Doctor Who. The series, a co-production of the BBC’s drama production house BBC Cymru Wales, its international arm BBC Worldwide and US premium network Starz, has also signed up other actors for guest roles in the new series, including Jurassic Park’s Wayne Knight, Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson and Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose.

Most of the filming is taking place in Los Angeles, California with two weeks being shot in Wales. It will air in July on BBC One in the UK and on Starz in the US.

Among other recent television roles played by John are Breaking Bad, Greek, The Unit and Without a Trace.

Mr. De Lance, I have slowly evolved into a big fan of yours over the years. I recently saw an episode of “Touched by an Angel” where you played a farmer from Clarion S. Dakota. This was the clincher. You were outstanding, (in the rain at the end), and I really enjoyed the character you played.
I am now looking forward to watching Torchwood, which I have never heard of before, but after seeing it listed on your site I checked it out and am impressed with the list of characters, (you included of course).

    Yay!! Have fun!!

Looking forward to this, hope you get to apply some of your humour to the role like you have as Q in Star Trek.
